L'Alana va néixer amb les cames tortes, i per poder córrer i saltar i ballar com la nena enjogassada que és no li queda més remei que operar-se. Però per recuperarse s'ha d'estar quieta al llit molts dies seguits. Quin avorriment! Sort que son pare, que la coneix prou justament perquè és la seva fi lla, li troba la companya ideal: una cadernera preciosa, petitona i espantada que ha caigut del niu una nit de tempesta. Nena i ocell somien juntes la llibertat, sense pensar que, quan arribi, potser s'hauran de separar.Alana was born with crooked legs and she has an operation so that she can walk and run like any other girl.
